Ester Colwell

Funeral service for Ester Patrick Colwell of Clarksville, TN will be held Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 12:00 PM. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at Sykes Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Kentucky Veterans West Cemetery at 2:00PM.

Ester Patrick Colwell age 79, died September 19, 2017 at Tennova Medical Center. She was born September 4, 1938 at Parkers Lake, KY to Lee and Helen Patrick. She was the wife of the late 1SG (Ret) Billy C. Colwell, Sr. for 45 years. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by two sons, David A. and Robert Lee; three brothers, Lloyd, Marvin, and Edward Patrick; and two sisters, Madge Dudney and Earma Jones.

She was an Associate member of the 101st Airborne Division Association, an Associate member of Western Kentucky & Tennessee Chapter of the 101st Airborne Division Association, Chaired the Screaming Eagle Support Fund Committee, and volunteered numerous hours to the community of Clarksville, TN and Fort Campbell, KY.

She is survived by two sons, Billy C. Colwell II and wife, Donna, Enterprise, AL; David Wayne Waters and wife, Valentina, USMC Okinawa, Japan; two daughters, Trish Halstead and husband, Clint, Clarksville, TN, Helena L. Patrick, Wilmington, OH. 7 grandsons; Kyle Patrick Coty, Clint W.E. Halstead V, Clayton J. Halstead, Austin Duffey, Jakob Duffey, Gavin Lee Duffey, and Liam Waters. 1 granddaughter; Isabella Waters. 3 brothers; Arvin Patrick. Pompano Beach, FL, Edgar Patrick, Independence, KY, Lee Patrick Jr., Killeen, TX, and 3 sisters; Eva Keeton, Ft. Meyers, FL, Edith King, Bethel, OH, and Marge Spiher, Ocala, FL.
