Ernest Elder Alley, age 69, of Clarksville passed away Friday, October 24, 2014 at St. Thomas Hospital / Midtown in Nashville. Sykes Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Rev. John Rushing officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Sykes Funeral Home and 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the church. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Alley was born August 2, 1945 in Montgomery County to the late Robert Martin and Gladys Yates Alley. He was also preceded in death by a son, Ernie Alley.
He served in the US Army, a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and retired from the US Army Corp of Engineers.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Frances Alley; son, Scott (Dana) Alley; brother; Robert Alley; grandchildren, Kariana Alley, Alexis Alley, Bailey Alley, Brady Alley and great-granddaughter, Averly Rose Mensing.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie Castleberry, Cleo Hogan, Ray Algood, Jimmy Lee Suiter, Jimmy Harris and Sid Harris. Honorary Pallbearers, Bailey Alley and Cole Mensing.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the ALS Foundation, 4825 Trousdale Drive, Ste. 107, Nashville, TN 37220.
