Funeral service for Emmitt Lee Spurgeon, age 82 of Clarksville, will be Saturday, July 09, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 09, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Emmitt passed away on Wednesday, July 06, 2016 at his residence. He was born on June 25, 1934 in Clayton, New Mexico to Emmitt and Hazel Spurgeon. Emmitt served and retired from the United States Navy and he is also retired from DynCorp. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by, his wife Dorothy Jean Spuregon. He is survived by his son, Emmitt L. (Florence) Spurgeon, II, daughter, Denise Edge, and brother, Bobby R.
