Elvis Thacker

Elvis L. Thacker, age 75 passed away Jan 12, 2012 at Madisonville Medical Center. Funeral service will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Junior Hensley officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 noon until the time of service. Burial will follow at Shiloh Canaan Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Thacker was born March 6, 1936 in Dublin, MO., son of the late Franklin Benjamin and Mabel Lauris Thacker. He was preceded in death by his son James Albert Thacker, and daughter Barbara Semmler.
Mr. Thacker retired with 20 years service in the US Army during the Viet Nam War. He attended Mt. Carmel Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Betty J. Parsons Thacker, sons Hans Peter Semmler, Freddy L. Crum, Hardy Semmler, and Mike Minnix . His daughters are Heike Cato, Reni Semmler, Robbie Montgomery, and Terrie Davis Other survivors are his sisters Norma Jean Stephenson, Divosha Vaughn, Elizabeth Rowland and Frankie Gosnell, brothers Barry and Darrell Thacker, 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
