E. Keith Hudson, 78 born November 6, 1938, passed away peacefully December 3, 2016, in Clarksville, Tennessee surrounded by his loving wife Eileen of 51 years and family. Keith is survived by his daughter Michelle and her husband Steve, daughter Sherry Montes, and son Bryan and his wife Trischa, granddaughters, Tana, Sara, Emelie, Erika, and Haley, grandson, Nick and great granddaughters Hudson and Cecelia, younger brother Mike and many nieces and nephews too numerous to name.
Keith served in the US Army from 1961 to 1964 with the 553rd Engineering Battalion as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic.
Keith was a retiree of 43 years from Beloit Corporation in Beloit, WI as a Machinist/Erector and Pipe Fitter.
Keith opened his heart not only to his family but over 300 foster care children from the Rock county area. Keith and Eileen shared a passion in helping these children gain a fighting chance in life.
Growing up in Burrwood Park along the Rock River in Beloit, WI, Keith had a passion for the outdoors who loved hunting and fishing. He always attempted to justify his absenteeism from school to inform folks whether they were flying or biting.
Those who took the time to know Keith, knew him as a man who cherished his family and would do whatever it took to provide and protect them. Many of his friends in time of need knew him as a compassionate and giving man often sacrificing something for himself in order to help others.
Keith was a man of faith and was closest to God while he was outside amongst nature. He never missed a moment to give thanks for his family and all of his blessings. He always spoke of someday hunting with his father again who passed when he was only 16 years old. He shared and taught his family values of right and wrong and emphasized never to miss an opportunity to say I love you to his family. He is in a happier place and will be dearly missed.
The Family reflects during this time on Keith’s lesson to never take your family or time with them for granted for all too often those we love can be taken from us to a higher calling without the slightest hint they will be gone all too early in our lives.
We love and will miss this man, a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
We cherish the thought of him reuniting with those he loved that have gone before him. Happy hunting and we all will be together again someday.
A visitation with family to be held at Sykes Funeral Home in Clarksville, TN at 2:00 pm. on December 8th, 2016. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 pm.
