Wayne Bearden , 80, Cunningham, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at his home. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Melvin Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion UMC Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bearden was born May 9, 1930 in Montgomery County, son of William Edgar and Cora Baggett Bearden. He was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Wall Bearden, daughters Jo Ann Bearden and Nancy Jane Bearden, and a brother Austin Bearden. He was employed by B.F.Goodrich,a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Previous 1st Responder for Cunningham VFD, and past member of the Montgomery County Bee Keepers Assoc. He is survived by two daughters Nita B. (Edgar)Groves-Hill, Cunningham, and Carol Wayne (David) Williams of Clarksville. Other survivors include a brother William"Bill" (Laverne) Bearden of Nashville, sisters Irene Smith and Margaret Hankins of Cunningham, and grandchildren Ryan(Christine)Groves, Patrick Groves, Alexis Hill, Lauren, Andrew and Abby Williams, great grandchildren Gracen and Grant Groves.
