Edward "Ed" Legere

August 31, 1953 — March 31, 2024

Clarksville

Edward Albert 'Ed' Legere passed away Saturday, March 31st, 2024 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville at the age of 70.

Ed was born August 31, 1953 in Norwalk, CT. After traveling the globe during his career in the Army, he and his family settled in Clarksville.

He was a proud veteran who served his country as a supply sergeant with the 101st Airborne Division. After his military service he worked as a pest control foreman in the roads and grounds department at Fort Campbell, Ky until his retirement. Ed fondly referred to himself as 'The Bugman' and could rattle off any number of facts about creepy crawly creatures. He loved to learn and spent much of his time studying history, keeping up with the Nashville Predators and Tennessee Titans, and refining his excellent taste in music.

Ed was a loving father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be best remembered for his impeccable sense of humor. Ed had a joke for everything and everyone and could bring a smile to the gloomiest of faces with his gentle ridiculousness. Ed was also a devout Christian who was secure in his personal relationship with the Lord.

Ed leaves behind his loving wife, Marjorie, of 49 years; son, Robbie; grandchildren Garrett and Ashley; his niece Nicole who he raised as his daughter; brother, David and wife Gail; sister in-law, Lynne; and many other relatives and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Yvonne; brother-in-law, Bob, and his son, Eddie.

In lieu of flowers, Ed's family is requesting donations be made in his name to the Montgomery County Veterans Coalition.
