Edith "Faye" Shepherd Sleigh, age 92 of Woodlawn went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Gateway Medical Center. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. The Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jody Kilburn and Pastor Scott Ezell officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 and 12:00 p.m. until the hour of sevice on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Funeral home. Burial will follow at First Baptist Church of Woodlawn Cemetery.
She was born in Clarksville, TN on November 13, 1920 to the late Wilee Edward and Jennie Crotzer Shepherd. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Roy W. Sleigh and a brother, Edward Shepherd.
She was a Charter Member and oldest living member of First Baptist Church of Woodlawn and a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Bryant (Jim) Vick; grandchildren, Lori (Brandon) Rippy, Tara Bryant; step-granddaughter, Angela (Brett) Kincaid; great-grandchildren, Alexa Brooke Rippy, Macy Paige Rippy, Bryant William Rippy; step-greatgrandchildren, Tyler James Kincaid and Mallory Cherry Kincaid.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Shepherd, Johnny Sleigh, Charles Sleigh, Don Atkins, Mike Atkins, Mark Barnett, Chris Barnett and Brad Crowe.
