Dudley Mcwhorter

George "Dudley" McWhorter, age 91 of Clarksville passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Christian Care Center of Cheatham. Funeral Service will be 12 PM Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Brother BJ Brack officiating. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 4PM - 8PM at the funeral home and on Wednesday from 10AM until the hour of service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers.

Mr. McWhorter was born in Montgomery County son of the late George Washington McWhorter and the late Ora Lee Trotter McWhorter. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Ora Claudine Austin McWhorter; son, Andrew Mark McWhorter. brothers, William McWhorter, Wilson McWhorter, Norman McWhorter, Ray McWhorter and J.D. McWhorter; sister, Marie Winsett. Dudley was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps during where he served during "D" Day and completed 34 missions, and he was a retired Postal Carrier with the United States Post Office. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and most of all enjoyed spending time with all of his grandbabies.

Dudley is survived by daughter, Lana McWhorter; sisters, Mary Alice (Bobby) Huggins, Lucy Fisher, and Etta (Charles) Dean; grandchildren, Chad McWhorter, Lynn McWhorter, Jill Clendening, Mia Flatt, Matt Flatt and Tiffany Sander; 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
