Dr. Albert Sanderson

A Celebration of Life service for Dr. Albert Andrew Sanderson, age 66, will be Monday, February 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Sykes Funeral Home. Bro. Stephen Ramsey will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home and again on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Gardens in Vicksburg, MS where he will be laid to rest next to his son.

Dr. Sanderson was born on March 20, 1955 in Laurel, MS to Albert and Myrtie Bell Sanderson. He passed away on February 2, 2022. Dr. Sanderson was a graduate of Ole Miss and retired as a pharmacist. He was a kind, selfless man who always put others before himself and loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Dr. Sanderson also loved his dogs, despite being allergic. Those that knew him will remember him as always being happy and smiling.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Ross Sanderson. He is survived by his sons, Derek (Jessica) Sanderson and Drew (Youyou) Sanderson; and grandchildren: Ace Sanderson, Jace Shields, Paige Shields, and Kade Shields.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Quentin Ross Sanderson Scholarship fund by mailing checks (with the fund noted) to University of Mississippi Foundation, P.O. Box 249, University, MS 38677.
