Dorothy Piatt

Dorothy Mae Pyland Piatt, 96, Clarksville, died Saturday, December 26, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. til 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Piatt was born March 12, 1913 in Russellville, Kentucky daughter of the late Lawrence and Grace Abner Pyland. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Russell Piatt, son Robert R. Piatt, Jr., daughter Barbara Jean Powers, and grandson Wayne Piatt. Before her retirement, Mrs. Piatt was a Presser in the dry cleaning industry. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Piatt is survived by her son; Billy (June) Piatt, Clarksville, daughters; Shirley Ann (Everett) Hadley of Kimberling City, Mo., Tanya J.(Buz Meek) Fleet of Clarksville, Deborah G. Batson of Moorehaven, Florida, and grandchildren; Wanda Webb, Annette Massi, Lynn Powers, Janet Mangrum, Tammy Stroud, Dale Bandy, Rhonda Bandy and Tracy Salerno, a sister; Ethel (Basil) Stewart of West Plains, Kentucky, and several great-grandchildren. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
