Donald George Covington, age 73, of Indian Mound, passed away at his residence on Thursday, October 23, 2014.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 27, 2014 at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 26 at Sykes Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 10:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
Donald was born June 24, 1941 in Montgomery County, TN to the late George Covington, Jr. and Rena Buchanan Covington Swift.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his sons Robert Covington, James Covington; step-father, Ralph Swift. Donald is survived by his mother Rena Covington Swift; children, Thomas (Debra) Covington, William (Charlene) Covington, Lois Covington, Donna (Jay) Thomason; several grandchildren; step-sister and a step-brother. Pallbearers will be Jerry Buchanan, Charlie Buchanan, Lane Page, Scotty Buchanan, Jay Thompson and William Covington. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Buchanan, Jerome Buchanan, Dwight Summers, Kyle Buchanan and Jimmy Buchanan. Online condolences may be made at www.sykesfuneralhome.com.
