Devona Nanney

A Celebration of Life service for Devona Brake Nanney will be Friday, April 21, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Nanney-Hollis Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Archie Glenn Nanney, Sr. Bro. Larry Robertson will officiate and family will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service.

Devona was born on May 16, 1933 in Montgomery County to Vernon and Louise Brake. She passed away on April 18, 2023. Devona loved taking care of her family and spending time with them. Although she was not a current member of a church, she had peace of mind knowing that she would spend eternity in Heaven.

In addition to her husband, Devona was preceded in death by her parents; 6 siblings; and grandson, Matthew Brian Nanney. She is survived by her children: Glenn (Yvonne) Nanney, Jr., Steve (Lillian) Nanney, Pat Nanney, Shirley (Wendell) Burke, Cindy Nanney-Akin, and Tina (Travis) Barber; brother, Sam Brake; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
