Dean Phillip Guenther, 73, of Clarksville, TN, passed away at 9:45am on April 22, 2015, of complications due to a stroke.  Dean can be remembered as an easy going guy who could fix anything and would help anyone who asked for it.

Visitation will be held at 3:00pm, Saturday, April 25, 2015 with a memorial service following at 4:00pm at Sykes funeral Home on Franklin Street, Clarksville, TN.  Interment will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West on Monday, April 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m .

Dean was born in Galesburg, Illinois on May 23, 1941 son of the late Harvey and Pauline Guenther.  He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1959 and continued to receive his Bachelors of Arts Degree from Eastern Illinois University.

Dean was married to LaDonna Kay Lott on May 9, 1969; they were married six years.

Dean later married Kae Ann Ayers on July 4, 1984, and was married for thirty years.

Dean served in both the Air Force and the Army as a helicopter pilot from June 1959 to June 1972 with tours in Vietnam from June 25, 1969 to June 24, 1970 earning the Bronze Star for Meritorious Achievement in ground operations against hostile forces.

After his service completion, Dean continued to work flying helicopters until 2013

Dean is survived by his brothers, Harvey Guenther, John Guenther; son (Biz) Dean Phillip Guenther Jr., step daughters Nicole Alex and Heather Alex Cozine, and Step Son Curtis Alex; Grandchildren Jacob McCrory, Sean Cozine, Taylor Cozine, Auna Cozine, Claire Daly, and Liam Daly; Great Grandchildren Aiden Cozine, Aston Cozine, Jax Cozine, Kayla Avery, Shelbi Alex and Ashlin Alex.

Dean is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey, (1980) and Pauline, (1993) Guenther, his brother, Rollie Guenther, (2000), and his daughter Amy Patterson (2012).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Sykes Funeral Home.  The family of Dean Phillip Guenther wishes to thank the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and all of his supporting friends.
