David Downing, Jr.

A Memorial service for David Lawrence Downing Jr, age 58, of Oak Grove, KY will be Friday, February 10, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Reed Shepherd will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service.

David was born on May, 1, 1964 in Nashville, TN to David Downing Sr., and Betty Brinkley. He was employed with Waffle House for over 30 years and enjoyed watching Vanderbilt sports. David also loved fishing, but more than anything he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Rick Brinkley. He is survived by his daughter, Jerrica Downing; sons, Andrew and Nathaniel Downing; grandchildren: Chayden, Spencer, Nathaniel Jr., Amelia, Taylee, and Zander; and siblings, Robert Brinkley, Jerry Brinkley, and William Downing.
