William Merritt Mosley, 88, Indian Mound, TN formerly of Clarksville passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at his home after a brief illness. Services will be conducted Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory, 424 Franklin Street, Clarksville, by the Military Chaplain. The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with full military honors. Military will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Mosley was born December 28, 1929 in Robertson County, TN to the late Clyde and Cleve Mosley. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Rena Rye Mosley, children; Patricia Ann Pagano, Debra Jean Mosley and Mark Anthony Mosley; a sister, a brother and grandchildren; Lorene Bousseau and Lori Eads.
Mr. Mosley was a proud and decorated veteran of the US Army where he served multiple tours in both Korea and Vietnam with the 11th Airborne, 101st Airborne and 82nd Airborne before retiring in 1974 after 24 years of service. He then began a second career in maintenance for Cambridge Square Apartments where he worked until he was 74 years old. He loved the outdoors, gardening, hunting, the country life, his chickens, his dog “Susie” and all the grandkids. Mr. Mosley was a loving and giving man, a hard- working simple man who was a friend to everyone he met and was loved by all.
He was affectionately known to his family and many more as “Pappy” and leaves to cherish his memory a son; William Edward Mosley, daughter; Pamela Faye (Roy) Carter; son-in-law Jaime Pagano, daughter-in-law Gina Mosley, step-daughter; Lisa (Tom) Duncheskie, step-sons; Raulin (Beverly) Green and Randal Green; twenty-two grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. A special thank you to Pappy’s grandson Tim and wife Brenda Mosley, there are not words to express how thankful we are for you and all you have done for our Daddy.
