Coraleah Gibbs

A Celebration of Life service for Coraleah Gibbs, age 89, of Clarksville, TN, will be Friday, April 14, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest alongside her late husband, Billy R. Gibbs. Rev. Corrie Alexander-Willette will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on Friday from 10:30 AM until the time of service.

Coraleah was born on November 18, 1933, in Parkertown, TN, to Edgar and Geneva Ezell. She passed away on April 8, 2023. Coraleah retired from the Clarksville- Montgomery County Board of Education after 33 years and was a member of St. Bethlehem United Methodist Church. She had a fun-loving spirit and was adored by all who knew her. Coraleah loved traveling and was always up for an adventure. However, her greatest times were spent with her family and cheering on the UT Vols.

In addition to her parents and husband, Coraleah was preceded in death by her son, Richard Alan Gibbs, Sr. and brother, Elton Ezell. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Susan Gibbs; grandchildren, Richard (Ashley) Gibbs, Jr. and Tracy (Josh) Gibbs Jerles; great-grandchildren: Parker, Wallace, and Eleanor; and siblings: Elmus Ezell, Shirley Buttrey, Rita Hawkins, Tony Ezell, and Linda Jolly.

Pallbearers are Richard Gibbs Jr., Barry Ezell, Dax Jolly, Rod Hawkins, Wes Buttrey, and Josh Jerles. Honorary pallbearers will be her remaining nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
