Charlotte Oliver Marshall died on Wednesday, April 28, 2021. She was ninety-eight years old. A private, family service was held.
Charlotte is survived by her husband Jack Fry Marshall; children Charles, Emily, and Woodson; three grandchildren, Eleanor Marshall Osborne, Patrick Coffre, and Charles Coffre; and two
great-grandchildren.
Charlotte was born in Clarksville, Tennessee, on March 21, 1923. In 1947, she married Jack Marshall.
Charlotte was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She was one of the founders of Loaves & Fishes, where she put her cooking skills to good use. She loved to sing and was a member of the choir at Trinity Episcopal Church where she added her solid soprano.
Charlotte taught English at New Providence Middle School for twelve years. She was the editor for Cumberland Lore and Trinity Episcopal’s monthly newsletter. She published two books, Mullings and Musings, A Journey from Grace to Grace and Mullings and Musings II. In 2010, Charlotte received Austin Peay’s Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts’ Artist Award.
