Charles F. Grant, 86, Clarksville, died Saturday, August 30, 2008, at Gateway Medical Center.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Sykes Funeral Home with Rev. John Hester officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Sykes Funeral Home.
Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Grant was born February 4, 1922 in Southside, TN to the late Vernon and Viva Jones Grant. He was also preceded in death by wife, Susie K. (Bumpus) Grant.
He was retired from Frosty Morn as a Meat Packer and from the Trane Company. He was a U.S. Army Verteran having served in WWII. He was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
He is survived by wife, Ouieda Black Grant; brother, Clifton Grant, Southside; son, Tommy F. (Mary) Grant of Riverside, AL; daughter, Bonnie Mimms, Knoxville, TN; stepson, Lemoine Black of Clarksville and a stepdaughter, Ginger Black of Cunningham; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bill Brake, Chad Grant, Adam Grant, Kevin Grant, Matthew Grant, Michael Bumpus, Cecil Tucker and Lionell Cook.
