Charles William (Charlie) Binkley, age 90 of Clarksville passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Fieldstone Place. Sykes Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. is in charge of arrangements. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 1324 Gholson Road, Clarksville. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2014 and on Friday 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Burial will follow at Sango Cemetery.

Charlie was born February 10, 1924 in Montgomery County to the late Emanuel and Ella Davenport Binkley. He was also preceded in death by daughter, Sheila Louise Binkley; brothers, Emanuel Binkley, Jr., Randolph Binkley; sister, Mildred Binkley and great-grandson, Dillon Binkley.

He was a lifelong member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church which he loved dearly. He served as a SEABEE in the US Navy during WWII. He was a Deputy with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and was retired from the Clarksville Police Department where he was head of the Juvenile Section of the Detective Division. He was a founding member of the East Montgomery Trail Riders Club. He was an avid horseman, loved his family, friends and living life to the fullest.

He is survived by sons, Donald Binkley, Richard Binkley; brothers, Ralph (Eudine) Binkley, Richard (JoAnn) Binkley; sisters, Billie Binkley Combs, Eleanor Binkley (Pat) Migliaccio; grandchildren, Deanna Binkley (Dennis) Benefield, Donald Binkley, Jr., Daniel (Abby) Binkley, Christy Binkley Jacoway; great-grandchildren, Darbey, Drue and Dalton Benefield, Cadence Binkley, Audra-Grace Binkley, Bryan and Adam Jacoway; many nieces, nephews and a host of close friends.

Pallbearers will be Phil Harpel, Harold Darnell, Roger Teague, David Rone, James Howard, Roger Edwards, Pat Bryant and Bill Jennings. Honorary Pallbearers will be nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Way, Memphis, TN 38105 or Bethlehem United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 3155, Clarksville, TN 37043.
