Catherine Grissom

Lilly “Catherine” G Grissom, age 92 of Clarksville went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 1, 2021. Catherine was born August 2, 1928 in Montgomery County, TN to the late Lewis G Gupton and Bessie Crotzer Gupton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Gordon Starr Grissom. Also preceded in death by her brother, William “Billy” Gupton, sisters Dorothy May Swaffer and Betty Jean Evans Seifert, and son-in-law Glynn Noe.
She was a member of Mt Hermon Baptist Church, where she attended for many years and sang in the choir. She enjoyed reading the Bible, cooking and spending time with family.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life to be held at Sykes Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 1:00 pm with Bro. Mike Madewell and Bro. Larry King officiating. Burial will follow at Davidson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service. Anyone attending the visitation or the Celebration of Life is asked to wear a mask and social distance.
Catherine is survived by daughters, Linda J Noe, Debbie (Jimmy) Shelton; son Randy (Carmen) Grissom; brother Gilmer Gupton; sister June (Larry) Mastracci; 4 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 12 step-great grandchildren and 1 step-great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Gilmer Gupton, Michael Noe, Ethan Grissom, Eli Grissom, Paul Swaffer and Ross Milliken.
The family would like to thank the Avalon Hospice staff for their compassionate care of Catherine and Dogwood Bend Assisted Living staff for their excellent care and friendships made during Catherine’s stay there. She loved you all and you will never be forgotten.
