Carol Elaine South

The family will receive friends for Carol Elaine South, age 78, of Clarksville, TN, on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. The family requests casual attire as this is what Carol would want.  

Carol was born on June 13, 1945 in Charleston, WV, to Earl and Florence Richman. She passed away on June 11, 2024. Carol spent 20 years as the Executive Secretary of Association of the United States Army. The wife of a veteran, she lived in many different places before she and her family settled in Clarksville in 1986. Carol loved spending time with her grandchildren, reading, and traveling. 

In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil South; and sister, Rose Phipps. She is survived by her children, Mark (Jua Dawn) South and Tonya (Carl) Higgins; grandchildren: Carolyn Edelmaier, Sabrina South, Cassandra South, and Cody South; great-granddaughter, Jackie Edelmaier; and sister, Sue McDowell.
