Carlos Sypert `Sonny` Carter, 80, Clarksville, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at his home. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Harwell officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn First Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 Thursday at the funeral home and from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Carter was born July 21, 1930 in Nashville, son of the late Abe and Mary Williams Carter. He was preceded in death by his brother Billy Carter. Mr. Carter was a Gas Attendant and member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He is survived by his son Michael Carter of CA; brother Arthur Carter, Clarksville; sisters Margie Caso, Melbourne, FL; Dorothy Baggett; Maggie Bryant; Grace Rogers and Janie Robinson all of Clarksville.
