Calvin Rose

A Celebration of Life service for Calvin Eugene Rose, age 70, of Hopkinsville, KY, will be Monday, September 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the time of service. 

Affectionately known as Gene, he was born on September 13, 1953 in Clarksville, TN to Emmett and Frances Yarbrough Rose who preceded him in passing. He passed away on September 4, 2024. Gene owned and operated Gene Rose Construction for over 30 years and ran a paper route for the Leaf Chronicle and Tennessean newspapers. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and love for his family. Gene was a proud "Papa" and enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. He also loved fishing, hunting, and playing guitar and keyboard. 

Gene is survived by Peggy Mitchell who has been by his side and loved him for the last 18 years; children: Kristopher Rose (Patrick Adams), Bobbie Ullom (Dan), Tiffany Perry (Jeff), Ashley Parsons (Bryan), Lindsey (Todd) Adams, Johnnie Edwards, and Janice Whitney; grandchildren: Audrey, RayLee, NataLee, Dylan, Morgan, Thomas, Kiera, Haylie, Brandy, and Becky; and great-grandchildren, Edward and Angelesha.
