Bruce Wilson

A Graveside service for Bruce Edward Wilson, age 80, of Cunningham, TN, will be Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Edgewood Cemetery 279-287 Cemetery Road Trenton, KY 42286. The family will receive friends prior to the graveside service Saturday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home.

Bruce was born on December 20, 1941, in Mt. Vernon, IL, to Thomas and Thelma Wilson. He was a member of Louise United Methodist Church and a veteran of the United States Army. Bruce retired from teaching after 30 years. During that time he was a teacher and administrator at Houston County High School and taught history and science at Montgomery Central High School. Upon retiring, he and his wife enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family. Bruce loved teaching his granddaughter how to fish when she was little and showing his grandson how to shoot a gun. Among his other talents, he was an amazing cook and enjoyed making meals for his family.

In addition to his parents Bruce is preceded in death by his wife Mayme Ruth Wilson and sister Barbara Wheeler. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Mary Courtney Wilson; grandchildren, Hagan Thomas Wilson and Kathryn Taylor Wilson; and siblings: Gail West, Glenn Wilson, and Elizabeth "Libby" Harris.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to caregivers, Candace Buckner with Oasis Homecare and the staff of Signature Healthcare of Erin.
