Billy Joe Mayfield, 77, Clarksville, died Friday, January 22, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Sykes Funeral Home with Rev. Glendia Dodson and Rev. Melvin Brooks officiating.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Saturday and from 1:00 P.M. until hour of service Sunday at Sykes Funeral Home.
Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Mayfield was born in Montgomery County, TN to the late John C. and Theora Law Mayfield.
He was a Building Superintendent for Bell Construction and a member of the Southside United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Lee Mayfield, Clarksville; son, Michael J. Mayfield, Charlotte; daughter, Judy Rye, Clarksville; sister, Virginia Bumpus, Southside; grandchildren, Brittany Symonds, Jennifer Durham, Jessica Mayfield, Jessie Rye, Lan Spicer and 4 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Phil Bumpus, Jason Brown, Ronnie Brown, Dickie Mayfield, Arnold Mayfield, Ronald Mayfield and Bobby Mayfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 4004 Hillsboro Pike, Suite 219A, Nashville, TN 37215 www.sykesfuneralhome.com
