Bill Davis

Billy Ray Davis, 72, Southside, Tennessee, died Thursday, January 28, 2010, at his home. The funeral will be held at 1:00 pm Monday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Melvin Brooks and Rev. Glyndia Dodson officiating. Burial will be in Rye's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm til 6:00 p.m. Saturday and from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. Mr. Davis was born April 20,1938 in Nashville, Tennessee son of the late Kirk and Irene Hayes Davis. In addition to his parents Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his brothers; Norris Davis, William Davis and Rob Davis and his sister; Margie Davis. Mr. Davis was a truck driver who loved his work; over his career he drove for Mid-Tenn Paving, Sessions Paving and was also an owner/operator. Mr. Davis was a dedicated Christian. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Viola Sinks Davis, his sons; Charles (Sandra) Davis of Southside, Mark (Rebecca) Davis of Cumberland Furnace, his daughters; Annette (Dave) Harlin, Clarksville, Gail (Mike) Burgess, Dickson, TN and Loretta (Frankie) Story, Southside. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mr. Davis' grandsons; Kirk Davis, Anthony Manlove, Brian Harlin, Russell Story, Randy Story and Jeffery Burgess. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Davis' granddaughters; Tonya Harris, Jennifer Story, Krista Davis, and great-grandsons; Hunter Harris and Devan Harris
