Anne Tarlton

Anne Ethylene Vaughn Tarlton, 82, Palmyra, died Monday, April 26, 2010 at her residence. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jacqueline Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Myers Cemetery, Palmyra, TN. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Tarlton was born April 19, 1928 in Cumberland City, daughter of the late Willliam Jerome and Sallie Esther Harris Vaughn. She was preceded in death by her husband James Heath Tarlton, two children Larry Thomas Moore and Joyce Ann Williams Miller, a sister Dorothy Vaughn Bumpus and granddaughter Heather Wolford.

Mrs. Tarlton was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. She is survived by her sons, Eddie (Susan) Williams of Palmyra; Billy (Ingrid) Williams of Clarksville, daughter, Donna (Jay) Williams Belanger of Palmyra; brothers, Othell Vaughn and James Austin Vaughn of Clarksville; Donald Vaughn and Bobby Vaughn of Dickson; Sisters, Greta DeShields of Guthrie, Meredith Massie of Douglas, Massachusetts, and Juanita Shepherd of Cumberland City. Grandchildren are Mark Miller, Mike Miller, Johnathan Williams, Stephen Williams, Melina Williams and Tyler Moore; nine great grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Gateway Hospice. A special thank you to Teresa Poston and the staff at Gateway Hospice.
