Anne Harrison

A Celebration of Life service for Anne Slate Harrison, age 79, of Clarksville, will be Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Bro. Jeff Burris will officiate. Burial will follow at Gum Springs Baptist Church. Anne's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Anne was born on August 10, 1942 in Clarksville, TN, to Paschal and Louella Rose Slate. She passed away on December 30, 2021.

Anne was a member of First Baptist Church of St. Bethlehem. She loved the Lord and serving the church. Anne loved cooking for her family and anyone that she thought could use a good home cooked meal. She could have a delicious cake whipped up in a moments notice. Anne loved the ocean, gardening, fishing, traveling, entertaining, and reading. She will be missed by all that were lucky enough to know and love her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Randolph Slate and sister, June Slate. Anne is survived by her husband of 25 years, Wayne Harrison; children: Kelly (Dee) Tompkins- Appleton, Lisa (Danny Birchfield) Barton, Glen (Gina) Appleton, Jr., Mary Kathryn (Dan) Carlson, Michelle (Wayne) Jernigan, and Jon Appleton; Tommy Slate who was like a son to Anne; sister, Wanda Homol; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; step-son, Rob Kennedy; and many loving nieces and family members.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund at 5270 Marion Road, Cunningham, TN, 37052.
