Ann Swift Corlew, 76, Cunningham, died Friday, January 21, 2011, at Williamson Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Melvin Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Batson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Corlew was born April 26, 1934 in Dickson county, daughter of the late Horace and Hazel Davis Swift. Mrs. Corlew was a retired educator. She taught at Greenwood and Montgomery Central. In 1990 Mrs. Corlew was one of ten statewide to receive the Distinguished Classroom Teacher Award from the State of Tennessee Clarksville Montgomery County Teachers Association. She was a member of Mt.Zion United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband Charles D. Corlew, a son; Charlie Dan Corlew, grandaughter; Courtney Corlew, and brother; Joe D. (Martha) Swift of Matthews, NC. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Batson Cemetery Association, at any branch of Regions Bank.
