Alvin Leon Clark, 87, Cumberland Furnace, died Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Melvin Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Clark was born April 4, 1923 in Slayden, TN, son of the late Fate and Mary Poole Clark. He was preceded in death by his wife Amy Castleberry Clark. He was employed by Acme Boot for twenty two years, and is a member of Marion Methodist Church. Mr. Clark is survived by his two sons Wendell (Maria) Clark and Allen Clark of Clarksville, his sister Wila Barbara Mathis of Michigan, and his Caregiver Jennifer Clark. He has twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Joshua Clark, Charles McCully, Christopher Tuberville, Thomas Grala, Vern Mayberry and Michael Crittenden, Jr. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion Cemetery.
