Albert "Gene" Griffey

A memorial service for Albert "Gene" Griffey, age 91, of Clarksville, TN, will be Monday, February 20, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until the time of service. Janet Harlow will officiate.

Gene passed away on February 15, 2023 surrounded by his family at home. He was born on January 9, 1932, to Henry and Lilly Griffey. Gene, a veteran of the United States Navy, enjoyed farming, fishing, listening to audio books, and being outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann Griffey. Gene is survived by his children, David Griffey and Cathy (Jerry) Castleberry; sisters, Brenda Bryant and Betty DeKonty; and grandchildren: Matthew (Shirley) Castleberry, Josie Griffey, and Jackson Griffey.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salem Community Church Youth Group.
