Memorial services for Alan Carter Wallace, age 69 of Cumberland City, will be Sunday, Feb 07, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Alan passed away on Wednesday, Feb 03, 2016 at his residence, after an extended battle with mesothelioma. To honor his request, his remains have been donated for cancer research. He was born on May 03, 1946 in Chicago, IL to Carter and Frances Wallace. He was a lifetime member of Cumberland City United Methodist Church. Alan was a 47 year active member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #572 Nashville, TN retired from the trade of pipefitter, welder and superintendent, a member of the Charity Lodge #370, and an avid Nascar fan. He was lovingly known as "Gran-Gran" to all his grandchildren.
In addition his father he is preceded in death by his brother, Bishop Wallace and granddaughter Grace Pulley.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna Stinson Wallace; mother, Frances Wallace, daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Ed Pulley; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Crystal Wallace; grandchildren, Madelyn, Lexie, Trinity and Jack Pulley; Reid, Reagan, Caleb, Olivia, and Joshua Wallace; sister and brother-in-law, Lela and Warner Roby; brother and sister-in-law, Sydney and Elaine Wallace; mother-in-law, Virginia Stinson; numerous nieces and nephews, and beloved cousin Tommy McIntosh.
