Adam Richard Kowalski age 91, of Clarksville, TN formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, June 22, 2013. Amos, as he was known, was born on December 24, 1921 to the late Jon and Victoria Kowalski. He was a World War II Veteran of the United State Marine Corp fighting in the battles of Saipan, Tinian, and Iwo Jima.
In addition to his parents, Amos was preceded in death by his wife Marie Buzzatto Kowalski and his brothers, Andrew and Walter Kowalski; sisters, Ann Masko and Helen Kowalski.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Humphrey; sister, Fran Tyrone and her children, Johnny and David; Walter's daughters, Janet and Doris; Ann's children, Pat, Richard, Alan and Cathy; many nieces and nephews; a special friend Eileen Eckenrode and her children, John Eckenrode and Vicky Elkins; Godchildren, Adam and Christopher Elkins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 12:00 pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Dominic Azarra officiating. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Church with a Rosary Service to be held at 7:00 pm. Visitation will also be held 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Warchol Funeral Home, Bridgeville, PA. Graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in McMurray, PA.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Kowalski's honor to the National Cancer Society or Aseracare Hospice, Clarksville, TN.
