Acree Russell Butts, 90, of Clarksville passed away on April 30, 2011 at Grace Healthcare. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ron Bailey and Bro. Paul Edwards officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Butts was born November 10, 1920 in Stewart County to the late Willie Russell Butts and Sadie Wilson Butts. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Louise Atkins Butts; son Ronald Lewis Butts; brothers Morris and Ray (infant) Butts; sisters Ethelene Butts; Magdalene Wyatt, Eula Ellis and Willie Mae Balthrop.
Mr. Butts was a veteran of the US Army, employed by Elder Conroy Hardware and retired from TVA. He was a member of Wyatts Chapel UMC.
He is survived by his sons Russell Conn (Carol Lynn) Butts; Gregory Lynn Butts, and his daughter Lisa (Bill) Sinks all of Clarksville. Other survivors include his brother Nathan Butts; and sister Nancy Johnson, seven grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
His son, Conn Butts, grandsons, Chris Butts, Ron Butts Brandon Butts, Matthew Sinks and nephew, Randy Butts will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters Charlsie Ford and Mandy Sinks.
