1Sg Oliver Smith, Army (Ret)

A Celebration of Life for 1SG Oliver Tyrone Smith, ARMY (Ret), 74 of Clarksville will be Monday, November 29, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Sykes Funeral Home. Pastor Gwan Ho Kim will officiate. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West where full military honors will be rendered. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until the time of service.

Oliver was born on October 2, 1947 in Dyersburg, TN to James and Thelma Wills Smith. He passed away on November 24, 2021. Oliver retired from the United States Army after 20 years  and again from Civil Services. He served in the Vietnam and Gulf Wars. Oliver enjoyed gardening, fishing, and cheering on his Tennessee Vols. He also loved watching The Price is Right and old westerns.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Annie Simmons and Nora Wyatt. He is survived by his wife, Hak Song Smith; daughters, Judy Smith and April Smith; grandchildren, Trinity and David; and brother, Johnny (Martha) Smith.
